Football's governing body announced the candidates via Twitter, with: Boateng, Camargo, Castellanos, Dembélé, Giroud, Hurtado, Mandzukic, Masuluke, Matic and Mboula the players who are set to compete for the gong.
The winner will be announced on October 23, along with the winners of the the positional awards and the Coach of the Year award.
