The Spanish international is set to line up alongside N'Golo Kante in the Chelsea midfield, meaning that he will face his boyhood club for the first time.
Fabregas has always been a Barca fan, having been taken to the Camp Nou for the first time at the age of just nine months and eventually coming through the club's famed La Masia academy.
However, his decision to jump ship for Arsenal in his teens threatened to damage his relationship with the club he loves, with several members of the Barca joerarchy frustrated at the way the deal had been done.
Eventually though, Fabregas did make his return to the club, with Barca paying the 'Gunners' £35m for his services in 2011. That move saw Fabregas reunited with boyhood friends Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi and idol Pep Guardiola.
Sadly, Cesc's return didn't go quite to plan, with the playmaker struggling to break into a midfield made up of Xavi, andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets, with Fabregas playing a lot of his football on the left or as a false nine.
Chelsea them swooped to bring the player back to the Premier League in 2014 andwith suggestions that he may be moved on by the 'Blues' in the near future, Tuesday may prove Fabregas' last opportunity to show Barca just what he is capable of.
