Footballers are well known for their antics on the field, whether it be petty fights, blatant dives, or massively over-the-top reactions to challenges. However, Celtic captain Scott Brown flipped the script on Sunday, much to the amusement of football fans on social media.
During Celtic's game against Aberdeen, which they won 0-2, Brown was subjected to a pair of tackles that would have sent your average footballer into a series of rolls and yelps of pain.
However, Brown is not your average footballer. The Scot picked himself straight up after the first tackle and proceeded to challenge for the ball, before a second, worse challenge came from Sam Cosgrove, who came flying in with studs showing, and got none of the ball. The tackle caught Brown in the knee, and from the outside looked very painful, but once again he was straight up, and as Cosgrove was shown a straight-red by the referee the Celtic player let out a joyous battle cry, before performing a little strut in the direction of the away support.

Brown has also been in the news due to the fact that he recently announced his retirement from international football, after holding talks with newly-appointed Scotland manager Alex McLeish. Brown, who had already retired once in 2016 before returning two months later, has called it a day once again, saying that the demands of playing football on both a club and international level had become too much as he heads towards the end of his career. "In terms of looking after my own body and in interests of my family, I felt now is the right time," he stated.
