On the back of an incredible September, with 13 goals, Harry Kane is on fire, and many people believe he is the best striker of 2017, but what do the stats say?
So far in the calendar year, the Tottenham striker has managed 36 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.
In terms of the Premier League, Kane is the clear leader, nine goals ahead of Romelu Lukaku and 12 ahead of Sergio Aguero in third place. To put it in perspective, the England striker has scored more goals in all competitions this year than seven current Premier League teams: Southampton, Watford, Swansea, Burnley, Stoke, West Brom and Crystal Palace.
His hat-trick record is also incredible, having scored a total of seven in 2017. Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only other player to score more than two in Europe's top five leagues, and he only has three, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have only managed two each.
In terms of total goals in the year, Kane is beaten only by Messi, who has an impressive 45 goals in 43 games, but when looking at goals-per-game in Europe's top five leagues, who comes out on top?
