There's no doubt that controversy has hit the French capital. The altercation between Cavani and Neymar his a hot topic at the moment and the set-pieces, be they free-kicks or penalties, are a cause for dispute between the players who make up the 'MCN' trio.
The Uruguayan striker and the Brazilian star have been involved in various discussions when it comes to taking set-pieces. Even before Sunday's clash with Lyon, you could see tension between the two forwards.
It seems that the dispute is not just staying on the pitch, with reports yesterday that Neymar unfollowed Cavani on Instagram, something which may seem trivial but taking into account their current relationship, is actually quite significant.
Additionally, Thiago Silva had to intervene between the two so the dispute did not turn physical, according to 'L'Equipe'.
The latest person to get involved in the saga is the other member of the revered 'MCN' trio: Kylian Mbappe. The French teenager was interviewed on the pitch after the game and, probably without realising, added fire to the flames with his comments.
"He missed the penalty, sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't. He was a bit frustrated, but he is a great player, he will score more goals," said Mbappe when asked about Cavani's state of mind after the penalty miss.
Everything was fine until the young Frenchman was asked whether he also wanted to take penalties. Mbappe, laughing, gave the response: "No, that would cause problems."
