Ronaldo and Benzema linked up for the first time since the Champions League final back in May against Getafe on the weekend, and Balague believes it is one of the most important partnerships in the 'Los Blancos' lineup.
"Benzema for me is one of the most important players at Real, alongside Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos," he told 'Sky Sports'.
"He defines the style of the team, and is the perfect forward partner alongside Cristiano, because he links the midfield, moves around and is comfortable in every position up front.
"I am sure, in fact I know, that Ronaldo prefers Benzema next to him than any other player."
Real's next match is in the Champions League against Tottenham, who as well as Zinedine Zidane's side, boast six points from their opening two games in the competition.
