Guardiola says he has no intention in changing his tactics in order to throw Ronald Koeman ahead of City's clash with Everton.
The two coaches are good friends having played together for Barcelona in the 1990s.
Earlier this week Koeman said he admired the way Guardiola sets his teams up but will look to take advantage of their typically high defensive line by attacking the space behind it.
Pep remains unconcerned about that and says he is going to focus on his own gameplan.
The former Barcelona coach said: "It's not a secret. I have been a manager for years and I don't have to announce to all the managers in the world about the space in behind. They know that.
"Even in the final of the Champions League there was a lot of space. I am not going to change."
Both sides have had busy summers, investing heavily in their squads with City aiming to win the title and Everton hoping to break into the Champions League places.
Guardiola said: "They are a top squad and they have important players. They lost an important player, (Romelu) Lukaku, but they have a good group of players - midfield players and strikers. They are one the best teams in the Premier League, I am pretty sure of that."
In their previous meeting in January Everton ran out 4-0 winners and Guardiola expects the Toffees to have a similar approach to the game on Monday.
"I expect they will play the same way and attack our defence. Sandro (Ramirez) and (Wayne) Rooney are used to playing in that way.
"They have a strong defence. They have great players and are dangerous on the counter-attack."
Summer signing Benjamin Mendy is not yet ready to make his debut for the club as he is still recovering from a thigh injury and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is also not quite ready for first-team involvement, returning from a long-term knee injury.
