The midfielder marked his first start for his new side following his move from Real Betis this summer with a brace and Real got themselves back on track following a disappointing start to the season in La Liga and Real boss Zidane has big plans for the youngster in the future.
The Frenchman sees the 21-year-old as Luka Modric's natural heir, with the Croatian rapidly reaching retirement age.
Having recently turned 32, there are concerns amongst the Real staff as to how long Modric can go on dominating games and keeping up with the pace of elite football. With that in mind, the club are already encouraging the former Tottenham man to impart his knowledge onto Ceballos, who at over a decade younger than his team-mate is seen as Real's future, alongside the likes of Raphael Varane, Theo Hernandez, Marcos Llorente, Isco, Marco Asensio and Borja Mayoral.
Ceballos is already showing promising signs in training, with his double against Alaves the latest positive signal.
Whilst many a Real fan will shed a tear when Modric either leaves the Bernabeu or retires, with his apprentice already in training, the club should be left in very capable hands.
