18-year-old Svilar made Champions League history on Wednesday night when he lined up for Benfica to face Manchester United in the Group A match, but it wasn't a successful night for the Belgian youngster.
The rookie goalkeeper made a costly error on his Champions League debut as he crossed the goal-line with the ball in his hands, giving the goal to Marcus Rashford as United secured all three points with a 1-0 victory.
Svilar was clearly upset with his contribution after the game and Romelu Lukaku went over to comfort his compatriot after his error on the biggest stage. He offered the stopper some words of comfort before embracing him reassuringly.
